Crafty Carper magazine’s Editor Jerry Bridger with the largest specimen of his three-fish catch during his first session on Birch Grove at the end of May 2010. Jerry targetted the margins in the Bouncing Bobbins swim and caught all three fish over a heavily baited spot of hemp, pellet and chopped boilies.

The famous Birch Grove is an exclusive 5-acre carp fishing lake set in Shropshire. Tim Paisley controls the water and during the months of June to October, the water is rented on a weekly basis to parties of up to four carp anglers who have exclusive use of the lake and the facilities. Whilst we have many requests from anglers for day tickets or weekend availability, the minimum letting period is 7-days.

Throughout the months of November to April Birch Grove is home to a small winter syndicate of 10 members, which are split into two rotas, both fishing one week on,
one week off.

The water can be a challenging one but Birch is simply a lovely place to visit. Birch Grove is well stocked with both mirror and common carp and some of the latest captures recorded from the water have included numerous 20s and an increasing number of 30lb+ fish.
